MiniStor hosts its Review Meeting in Santiago de Compostela
The Review of the MiniStor project will take place on April 23 and 24, 2025, in Santiago de Compostela. This meeting will bring together Work Package leaders, consortium partners, and external reviewers from the European Commission to evaluate the project’s progress, results, and alignment with its stated objectives.
As the project enters its final phase, this review represents a key milestone in assessing outcomes and finalizing deliverables. It also provides an opportunity to discuss the project’s broader impact.
A central part of the meeting will include a visit to the MiniStor demonstration site in Santiago de Compostela, where the integrated high-density thermal energy storage system has been installed. Designed for residential use, the system offers heating and cooling functionalities in a compact and modular unit, with a thermal storage density more than 10 times that of water.
The demonstration unit was installed in 2024 in an 80 m² apartment within the University of Santiago de Compostela’s residential facilities, alongside a solar thermal field. After successful installation and component testing, the system is now under the responsibility of the University. The demonstration will collect operational data, monitor user comfort, and evaluate performance indicators to validate the system’s replication potential in similar residential environments. Down below, there are some images of the demonstration site installation.
