Exploring synergies during the BUILD UP webinar on novel energy solutions for buildings

MiniStor was invited to participated in the latest BUILD UP webinar, ‘Energy generation and storage technologies in buildings’. The project was chosen for its relevant works on coupling renewable sources of energy with energy storage, alongside three other projects, for a virtual session held on January 26th, including shared conclusions and questions from the audience.

Hosted by BUILD UP, the EU Portal for energy efficiency in portals, the webinar represented a rare opportunity to explore synergies with other Horizon projects, as the webinar featured specific approaches for efficient heating and cooling (SunHorizon and HAPPENING) while exploring compact thermal energy storage (ComBioTES). The presentations and subsequent dialogue provided MiniStor with valuable exchanges, besides the opportunity to share its unique concept and components: high energy density storage, hybrid photovoltaic-thermal collectors, and the smart management system. MiniStor’s contribution was made possible by Georgios Martinopoulos (CERTH) and Carlos Ochoa (IERC), our project coordinator and delegate for this occasion.

Moderated by Aranzazu Galán, Senior Researcher at Université Libre de Bruxelles and BUILD UP’s Editorial Board Member, the session spanned for almost two hours, with plenty of time to discuss, and space for 14 questions from the audience. Besides the participants, which included representatives from RINA Consulting, Tecnalia, Amires and CARTIF –also a MiniStor consortium member–, the event gathered a total of 33 researchers and end-users. The whole recording is available through the BUILD UP channel.
